UPtool Privacy Policy

Data Collection

UPtool does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The extension operates entirely on your local device using Chrome's built-in storage API. We have no servers, no analytics, and no tracking mechanisms.

What Data Stays Local

• Todo Items: Your tasks, priorities, and due dates are stored only on your device
• Blocked Websites: Your list of blocked sites remains private and local
• Settings & Preferences: All configuration data stays on your device

Data Usage

The only data UPtool works with is the information you choose to enter (your todos and blocked websites). This data is:

• Stored locally using Chrome's storage API
• Never transmitted to external servers
• Never shared with third parties
• Never used for advertising or analytics

Website Blocking

When you add websites to your block list, UPtool only:

• Checks if the current website matches your block list
• Redirects you to a focus reminder page if it's blocked
• Does not monitor, record, or transmit your browsing activity

Data Security

Since all data remains on your device:

• There's no risk of data breaches from our servers (we don't have any)
• Your data is as secure as your Chrome browser
• You have complete control over your data

Data Deletion

You can delete all UPtool data at any time by:

• Using the "Reset All Todos" button in the extension
• Removing the extension from Chrome (this deletes all associated data)
• Clearing Chrome's extension data through browser settings

Third-Party Services

UPtool does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or external APIs. The extension is completely self-contained.

Changes to This Policy

If we make any changes to this privacy policy, we will update the version number of the extension and the date below. However, our commitment to not collecting user data will remain unchanged.

Permissions Explanation

UPtool requests the following permissions for legitimate functionality:

• Storage: To save your todos and settings locally
• Active Tab: To detect and block distracting websites
• Web Navigation: To redirect blocked sites to the focus page
• All URLs: To enable blocking any website you choose to add to your list
